Chapter 20 Summary: Controlling Reflections By Using Terminations By this point, the reader will understand that electromagnetic energy traveling down a transmission line will reflect back and forth along the line unless it is absorbed. Chapter 20 discusses the various types of terminations that can be used to control such reflections, including series, parallel, AC network, diode pair and Thevenin, as well as the Thevenin equivalent terminator. The reader will also learn what happens when series and parallel terminations are used on the same design.
